Slushii
Slushii paints out loud with different sounds. When you listen to him, you’ll hear brushstrokes of colorful electro house drip across a canvas of cavernous trap beats and future bass rhythms brightened with melodies beamed in from another realm. It’s the perfect soundtrack for the best night of your life, the festival you never want to end, or—maybe even—space travel. Amassing billions of streams and selling out shows worldwide, the gold-selling New Jersey-born artist, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ continues to traverse uncharted territory sonically and creatively, blasting off beyond all boundaries in 2026. “I’m like an audio painter,” he notes. “My work is a reflection of what I’m feeling in the moment. I like to push the envelope, and I never want to be put in a box. I have a palette of different colors—which are various genres—and I like to intermingle them. By mixing colors you make new colors, which is what I’m trying to do all the time.” The vibrancy of electronic music has always resonated with Slushii. Growing up in Mount Laurel, NJ in a “pretty big Italian family,” he dove headfirst into the genre during middle school. At 13-years-old, he made his first purchases on iTunes, downloading Skrillex’s remixes of “Levels” by Avicii and “In For The Kill” by La Roux and opening up a world of inspiration. He went from messing around on PlayStation’s MTV Music Generator and Guitar Hero 5 to cooking up songs on Garage Band. Learning a total of six instruments (guitar, bass, piano, drums, ukulele, and mandolin), his journey of musical discovery twisted and turned from a stint in a high school jam band to recording entire unreleased albums of acoustic rock songs on Mixcraft and FL Studio. After losing his initial Soundcloud account under the name of DJ Swoon, he opted to give it another shot as Slushii—inspired by “kawaii” the Japanese word for “cute.” Building buzz, he landed his first major booking at HARD Summer in 2016. From there, it was all gas and no brakes… Throughout the ensuing decade, Slushii locked into a prolific groove. He ignited a series of fan favorite albums, including Brain Freeze [2016], Out of Light [2017], Find Your Wings [2018], E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) [2022], and A Slushii Summer [2022] as well as the sapientdream collaborations: Dream III [2020] and Chrysalis [2025]. He impressively generated hundreds of millions of streams with singles like “LUV U NEED,” “There x2” [with Marshmello], and “Sober” [with Kaivon], to name a few. Not to mention, “All I Need” served as the opening theme for the Rocket League video game, and he performed in Fortnite as part of the “Spotlight” concert series. 2023 saw him launch “Past Lives” [with sapientdream] into the stratosphere. The latter not only gathered over 224.3 million Spotify streams, but it also earned a Gold certification from the RIAA. Plus, his influence has coursed through multiple genres with high-profile official Remixes for Ariana Grande, BTS, Steve Aoki, Poppy, Fergie, and many more. Beyond sold-out headline tours and unforgettable sets at Ultra, EDC, and Tomorrowland, he has even collaborated with the likes of Konami and more. However, his proudest accomplishment is the tightknit relationship he maintains with his global fan base. “I care about them like my friends,” he smiles. “I’m translating my feelings to them. My sound can either be super polished, or it can be a bit disjointed at times, and rightfully so because it reflects what's happening in my life. I try my best to be as authentic as I can. What I’m doing is meant to be inclusive and for everyone.” You could say Slushii is still progressing at lightspeed. 2025 saw him level up again on Chrysalis. Sonically, it marked a clear evolution as evinced by standouts such as “TRUE!!” He observes, “It’s a glimpse into my dream sound, which is like trap mixed with EDM and rock. It’s my talent on full display.” Expanding his vision, he proudly presents a Manga comic based on his eponymous Slushii character to cap off the year. He joined forces with Rob Peredya of Henshin to power the project alongside Webtoon and Merryweather Studios. “It’s important for me to show everybody that this isn’t just music,” he says. “There’s an entire universe here.” In the end, Slushii’s art has the power to live on for a long time to come. “I'm not really writing music for people now; I'm writing for people in the future,” he leaves off. “My music is a live guide on how I am actively getting through my life. I put my scars and wounds on display so others can learn and heal. I have no problem putting myself in the line of fire if that means someone else can walk over that tight rope, as well. I hope my songs act as a reminder that the world isn't all bad.” BIO Slushii paints out loud with different sounds.
