Slowboy
Slowboy is a Norwegian DJ/Producer redefining modern dance music with a sound that fuses internet culture, bass, and traditional styles. Emerging from the underground bass scene, he has rapidly become a global force. His breakout came through pioneering Brazilian Phonk ("Phunk"), a hybrid of Brazilian Funk and Phonk that became a global genre phenomenon. Tracks like "Brazilian Phonk Mano," "Life in Rio," and "Oppa" hit Spotify’s Global Viral Charts, inspiring a wave of artists to follow. His single "ASTRO" with IVOXYGEN and zaichkou888 blended opium, dance-pop, and phonk, charting in Spotify’s Top 20 in Ukraine and Belarus. Its Police in Paris remix took off on TikTok, supported by SAYMYNAME, POLTERGST, and Andrea Botez. Slowboy’s experimental drive has led to collaborations with Sublab, Just A Gent, Bad Computer, DJ Paul and official remixes for Odetari, Switch Disco, R3HAB, Sam Feldt, Oliver Tree and more. In 2024, his single "Fake Friends" with ALMA and Digital Farm Animals landed over 20 editorials on its release, the most for its kind. While his commercial dance direction continues to thrive, he's also spearheading the "Baile Bass" genre, a fusion of Baile Funk and Bass music, gaining support from the likes of NGHTMRE, SLANDER, and Alison Wonderland. With over 750 million streams, Slowboy has brought his sound to stages across Europe, including Phonk Nation (ADE), Earth Garden (Malta), and Phonk Up London. He has also received multiple plays on BBC Radio 1, championed by the late Annie Nightingale.
