Pegboard Nerds

The Pegboard Nerds are comprised of Scandinavian producers Alex Odden and Michael Parsberg. Alex and Michael met back in 2004, when Michael (DK) fell in love with the production skills of Alex (NO), after listening to the remixes he did for Above and Beyond and Kyau & Albert. Michael contacted Alex for a remix job, which turned into a long-term friendship and partnership. For the first 6 years close to 100 remixes and (ghost) productions got released under various aliases. It wasn’t until 2011, a late-night studio session turned into “Let's make music we want to listen to ourselves and play out as DJ´s, rather than making music the record labels wanted us to” and that was the beginning.

As all the cool artist names were taken, an anagram generator and the last names (Odden/Parsberg) helped find the odd name Pegboard Nerds.

Their first release was a collaboration with fellow Scandinavian artist and friend MORTEN in 2012. The same year the first of many releases with Canadian record label Monstercat was released. 10 years later and still going strong, Pegboard Nerds have toured the world several times, keeping the #NERDNATION alive. From small venues to big festivals the Nerds are stirring up dance floors with their retro synth and gaming-infused, high-energy electronic dance music. “We don’t care if there are 50 or 5000 people, we just want everyone to have fun”.

Over the years Alex and Michael have collaborated with and remixed a lot of artists such as Knife Party, Krewella, Excision, NGHTMRE, Mat Zo, Infected Mushroom, Grabbitz, etc.
