Hailing from the city of Bristol, Sam AKA Nu Aspect began experimenting with production at the age of 12. After being heavily inspired by the early dubstep and UK bass records that took hold of the underground scene in the UK, many hours were spent in his bedroom studio experimenting with sound design trying to emulate his favourite artists sounds. His work would initially span a number of genres that include Drum and Bass, Bassline and House.

Nu Aspect made his breakthrough in 2017 with the single ‘Things I Said’; a track influenced by the Future House sound of 2017 that was picked up by a then early Selected YouTube channel. Having taken inspiration from artists such as Tchami, Chris Lorenzo and Gorgon City, the signature sound that Sam has spent the last decade building has proven successful, gathering over 30 million Spotify plays, among many more across other platforms.

Intricately layered sounds that veer from trance influenced, dreamy house tracks such as 2020’s ‘Light’ to the rave-ready bass VIP of ‘Jungle’, Sam’s productions are no stranger to the dancefloor, and have built him a loyal fanbase that keeps on growing.

This was all accomplished on the back of studying full time at the University of Manchester. As the sun sets on Sam’s academic career, a new dawn is on the horizon for Nu Aspect!
