"Notaker is the alias of St. Louis-based dance music producer David Nothaker. Notaker’s distinct style of dance music, characterized both by his strong sound design and his devotion to imbuing his compositions with heavy narrative elements, helps him create songs that wholly immerse fans into his unique universe. The insatiable urge to begin writing music occurred for David in 2009 after attending his first electronic concert and being persuaded by a friend to download Logic Pro. Having virtually no musical background David would scour the internet looking for tutorials, reading material, message boards, and practically any information that could help him further his knowledge in dance music production. What started as a casual interest quickly turned into a deep fascination and now fuels an impeccable work ethic only seen in the most dedicated of artists. The self-taught producer is no stranger to spending ten to twelve hours a day meticulously shaping his records into finely tuned pieces of sonic art. Having nearly eight years of experience producing records, Notaker’s records are amongst the cleanest and most unique in electronic music. Aside from his immaculate productions, Notaker emphasizes creating art that has depth beyond just the song itself —whether, in the form of strong artwork, live visuals, or music videos, his music always tells a multi-faceted story. He is intimately involved in art directing all of the visual elements of his songs, ensuring that each song explores a meaningful theme by telling a cohesive story. In 2016 Notaker signed his first hit record, “Infinite”, with the independent electronic music giant Monstercat. The song has had immense success amassing over seven million streams on spotify and being affiliated with global brands such as GoPro. He followed up with “Gems” and “Shimmer” on the label and later signed “Born in the Flames” with Armada Music and “Abyss” with Mau5trap. In October 2017 Notaker unveiled his new Vessel series with the Genesis EP, a series focused on pairing music and artwork together to bring the listener on a journey through space in time through the vessel. The Genesis EP, released with Monstercat, has been streamed nearly one and a half million times, landed a song, “Wake Up You’re Dreaming” on the video game Rocket League and was given a 9/10 rating by DJ mag. The Genesis EP was the first in a 3-part series of EPs involving the Vessel, followed by the Erebus I EP, released via Deadmau5’s label mau5trap, and culminating in the final installment, the PATH.FINDER EP, released via Monstercat. With support from heavyweight acts like Deadmau5, Pendulum, Above & Beyond, Seven Lions, Gareth Emery, Arty, Zeds Dead."
