Feathervane

"Feathervane is the electronic music project from the mind of Colombian creative Simón Marulanda. The young Texas-based artist began releasing music with small record labels as early as age 12, working with various genres under various aliases. After settling on a sound inspired by the likes of Direct, Medasin, and Galimatias, Marulanda strives to create light, wistful atmospheres that bring the listener to a state of serenity.

Outside of his original production, Marulanda is also a talented DJ and mashup artist. He found his first break in the 2018 season of The Mix Contest hosted by legendary Vancouver label Monstercat. While he didn't succeed that year, he returned in the 2020 season to take home the grand prize. Following this victory, Marulanda took a hiatus from releasing original music in order to refine his style, but in the meantime, he consistently provided guest mixes and mashups for Monstercat's Call of the Wild radio show.

In 2022, Marulanda returned to releasing original music, delivering his first EP with Monstercat Silk and making the step up to an artist on the label. ""Overcast,” produced in collaboration with OREONIC, marks a new direction for the project. Back and better than ever, Feathervane is now a name to watch out for as it begins to truly take flight."
